To purchase prints: On the home (main) page, you’ll see a button in the left-hand menu with the title “To purchase prints ...” Click on this button for detailed instruction on how to use the shopping cart to purchase prints of the photos on this site. Slideshow Page - the slideshow is only active when this page is being displayed. The old site’s slideshow ran continuously on the home/entry page, incurring continuous downloads of the next slide to be shown. The new site’s slideshow runs only when the home page is visible. A link to return to the slideshow page is usually availble in the margins of whatever page you may be on. You may return to the slideshow page by clicking on that link. Guestbook - not active yet, but this feature will be added as soon the the rest of the basic site’s functions are in place. You’ll be able to leave comments such as recommended changes or improvements, or comments on a feature that you like. This will help me fine-tune the site into as user-friendly a site as possible. Request Coverage / Calendar - in the near future, I plan to operate more on a request basis and less on a general coverage basis. My biggest challenge is time, so I’d like to limit future coverage to the events people are most interested in. My “Calendar” of planned event coverage will be available, along with a method for requesting coverage of an event. Event Photos - this is what most folks will be primarily interested in - this is where the photos will reside. One level down from here, you’ll find categories of events, such as “football”, “basketball”, etc. One more level down from that will be specific events by date. Other Merchandise - this is where non-photo merchandise can be accessed. Examples include the photo CD’s, including those running as current fundraisers for specific organizations at Bowie. Your Favorites - this is one of the most significant new features. When you browse the event photos, if you find one you’re particularily interested in, you can add it to “Your Favorites” by clicking a button on the photo page. At some point later in time, you can re-visit your favorites by clicking on the “Your Favorites” button. You won’t have to browse through the 100’s or 1000’s or 10’s of thousands of pictures to find a specific picture of interest if you’ve added it to “Your Favorites”. Forum - I’ll continue to provide a discussion forum, even though the one on the old site was seldom used. Some day, folks may find it useful. Email-list - this feature existed on the old site. I maintain an anonymous email list. When I post a new event, I usually send out a notice to this list. This list is used only for official event and website information. The addresses are not displayed publically nor are the provided to anybody else. News and Info - on the old site, I posted recent, important info on the home page. That info will now be posted specifically to these pages with minimal information published on the home page ...
