Those familiar with my football season pics will remember that I appointed Mr. Clayton Bielke official Bowiephotos.com spokesman, without his permission or even notifying him. Well, Mr. Bielke is back for the third time as Bowiephotos.com Spokesman, or should I way “Spokesperson”- this time to announce the upcoming gallery of photos taken at the Mr. Bulldawg contest earlier this evening.  Here’s some samples, starting with a shot of Clayton himself.  It would appear that Clayton has been in .... how should I say this ..? -  let’s just say he’s been training for something a bit different than the offensive line in a football game.

2008-Feb-16:   Soccer pics - Bowie vs. Anderson - Update - All pics are online from both the boys and the girls soccer games with Anderson.

2008-Feb-12:   All photos online from the Lone Star Arena Football Classic - just finished posting the 1st and 2cd half’s.  Coming next - boys and girls soccer (vs. the Anderson Trojans).

2008-Feb-10:   Wrestling ... Soccer ... Dance ... and Arena Football !!!! - Ron Macklin just posted wrestling pics, starting with the Gulf Coast Duals,  going through several events, ending with pics from Regionals. Check these out under “Photos -> Wrestling” in the menu to the left.

Soccer pics will be coming in a few days - Bowie vs. Anderson, both boy and girls, all teams.  My Canon Mark III is in the shop and a friend loaned me his Mark II so I wouldn’t have to miss these events. All pics are online from the Texas State Dance Championship. Unfortunately, I missed Bowie’s Solos - I’ll catch ya’ll next year !!!  I was shooting an individual request, but managed to get lots of pics for Bowie’s dancers from the team/officer performances. To view the dance photos, select “Photos -> Special” in the menu to the left.

And ARENA FOOTBALL - Pre-game pics are up and more coming soon ... I shot a few pics from the Lone Star Arena Football Classic at the Erwin Center last Sat. night, hosted by the Austin Wranglers. Having never attended or even seen an arena football game before, I spent a bit of time on the confused side, and hadn’t quite figured out where I could roam to shoot pics until later in the game.  The line-up for the South All-Stars Team included Nick Grasshoff, Charles Holmes, Greg Kerr, and Armando Martinez from Bowie, Mychal Williams from Crockett, and many other great players from Austin and surrounding area schools. The South All-Stars were coached by Jim Carson, Seguin’s Head Coach.

2008-Feb-03:   Soccer ... and ... Texas State Dance Championship - Pics from the Bowie JV/Varsity Men’s soccer game against San Marcos are now online.  Coming soon - pics from the Freshman/JV games against Austin High on Feb 1st (Couldn’t stay for the varsity game - I’ll be shooting the Bowie/Anderson game this coming week).  Also, I’ve got a few pics from the Texas State Dance Championship held at Bowie yesterday (Sat, Feb 2cd) .. not too many as I was there mainly just for requested coverage.  These are not online yet - might be a day or two before I can get these up.

.2008-Jan-30: Theatre Pics - Just posted Lisa’s photos from “Aida”, Thursday and Friday night. Check ‘em under “Photos -> Theatre” in the menu to the left !  Also, look for a couple of rounds of coverage of  boy’s and girl’s soccer this week.

2008-Jan-24: COLD COLD COLD !!!! Bowie vs. Akins - Women’s Varsity and JV soccer teams. I’m posting this approx. 24 hours after the games ended and I’m still not quite thawed out.  I gotta find myself some warmer gloves .... !  Congrats to the girl’s on their wins - Varsity 9-0, and JV 8-0, over Akins.

2008-Jan-15: !!! Time for some Soccer !!!!  I just posted one Varsity Boy’s game (against Steele, Hays tournament on Friday, Jan 11th) and five Freshman/JV Girl’s games from the Westlake JV Tournament on Saturday, Jan 12th.. The last game is the 8PM championship game with the results shown in the photo below !!! Click on “Photos” in the left hand menu, and then select “Soccer” from the events page to see the pics.

2008-Jan-04: Best Wishes for the New Year to Everybody !!!
I’m working on some website changes, including some to help out with the issue of the site hanging up and loosing shopping cart contents.  I’m making lots of changes to the underlying program code - you may see an occasional strange message associated with my coding and debug efforts - just ignore these. If you run into a serious issue where things aren’t working, send me an email (link above) or give me a call - 282-9233. Within a week or two, I hope to have a personal log-on capability that enables a “Your Favorites” feature in which you can build a collection of your favorite images over multiple browsing sessions.  Also, I’m improving the reliability of the shopping cart code such that you don’t loose all the contents when something hangs up or you inadvertently leave the site or something .....

2007-Dec-08: Oak Hill Gazette and Slaughter Creek Reporter - Both have articles on the football banquet. I sent several photos over to Will at the Oak Hill Gazette.  He chose a very ‘special’ one for the paper - so, find a copy and check it out !!!.  Also ...

Football Banquet pics are online - You can download a free medium-resolution copy of any image by clicking on the link above each photo. The medium-res images are 1000x1500 pixels ... good for 4x6 and 5x7’s. You may also order prints if you prefer not to print your own.

2007-Dec-03: Christmas print ordering schedule: If you’re going to need prints for Christmas, here’s how the schedule looks at the moment:

• I should be in town through December 22cd. However, anything mailed on Dec 22nd may not reach you in time as that only leaves 1 day for mailing (23rd is a Sunday, 24th is Monday). Best bet is the have all orders submitted by Dec 20th - I’ll print and mail on the 21st (Friday), leaving 2 days for mail transit time, which should be enough for in-town orders. Out-of-town orders should be placed even earlier.

2007-Dec-03: Suggestion for large orders: Here’s a bit of info that might make ordering photos go a bit smoother if you’re planning on placing a larger order:

• If you’re ordering lots of photos and planning to take advantage of one of the price-break points (10% at $50, 15% at $100 and 20% at $200), do multiple orders and limit each order to 15-20 or so images, or maybe one game at a time.  I’ll combine all of your orders and apply a total discount. You can submit the orders over a period of  few days if you wish (don’t have to do them all in one session).  This makes it easier to go through the large number of photos on the site, and makes it a bit safer - my online ordering system does not save your session (something I will be addressing as time permits) and if internet goes down or your computer crashes or you accidentally leave the website, go to another website, then try to return to bowiephotos, you might have to start over, which may be quite a hassle if you’ve already put lots of time into the order. Sooooooo, order in smaller batches, select “Free or Pre-Arranged Payment” in the final check-out step for each order, send me an email when you’re all done, and I’ll send you a discounted total amount due at the very end.

This completes the posting of all football pics I’ve shot this season - all games are now online ....  Also, all photo orders submitted to date have been mailed. If you haven’t received yours yet, please let me know. Hopefully, I didn’t miss anybody.

2007-Nov-8:   Paredes-Murchison Football Game - City Championship game from last night (Nov 7th) - 7th grade is posted. 8th grade coming shortly.  Select “Photos” in the menu to the left, then “Football 2007”

2007-Oct-26:   Clint Small / Paredes Football Game custom-shoot (Oct 17th) posting is underway.  I caught the end of the 7th grade games, so there are shots from that.  The 8th grade 1st-half and half-time shots are up.  2cd-half should be posted this evening.  You can find the shots under both “Special Requests” in the menu to the left, and also under “Football 2007” on the main Photo Events page.

     ... AND ... the sports section has a write-up on Marcus Griffin - front page of the AAS sports section. It would
     appear that it is “The Year Of Marcus”. That is too COOL !!! Both Michael and Marcus, major hero-dudes !
     ... AND ... there’s a nice write-up about Bowie’s defensive line in today’s paper too !!!
     ... SO ... along with it being “The Year Of Marcus”, is is very appropriate that it is also “The Year Of Bowie” !

Bowiephotos.com spokesperson, Clayton Bielke, back for the second week in a row and sporting a fresh haircut, had this to say about the Bowie victory over Westlake, which included a 2cd half total shut-down of the Westlake offense, and Bowie’s unstoppable march toward District Championship:

“THE HOUSE OF PAIN IS IN EFFECT, Y’ALL, AND
ANYBODY STEPPIN’ UP IS GETTIN’ WRECKED, Y’ALL !!! “

Actually, I stole those words from a song, but I’m sure that Clayton would have said just that if given the chance!  Photos are online - I covered the pre-game, the first quarter, and the beginning of the 2cd quarter. I needed to cover half-time over at Burger, but was able to make it back for most of the 4th quarter and the end of the game.  My daughter, Kayla, helped fill in with a bit of coverage during the time I missed.

2007-Oct-6: Football and Tennis ... Sophomore and JV games against San Marcos are posted. Also, thought I’d try a bit of tennis - I shot pics for about 30 minutes last Thursday (Bowie vs. Seguin). You’ll find these under “Tennis” on the events page (click on “Photos”) in the menu to the left). We’re making plans to re-do the photo gallery in the Bowie administration office, and I wanted to include a tennis shot. If ya’ll like these and want more coverage of tennis, let me know.

2007-Oct-2: Just discovered a small problem - I made a cut-n-paste error on the football page, and had left last Friday’s game against Akins titled “Bowie vs. McNeil”. If you’re looking for the Akins game, this was probably a bit confusing - my apologies - it’s fixed now, and properly labeled “Bowie vs. Akins”.

2007-Sep-30: Everything shot to date is now online - Bowie/Akins varsity was just posted.  Pics from the Bailey-Clint Small football game (Wed, Sept 26th at Burger) are up also. You can find them  under both “Football 2007” and “Bailey” in the Photo categories.

2007-Sep-23: Just posted the Freshmen Red & Black - everything is now online from all Bowie/Vista Ridge games that I was able to shoot (everything except JV/JV1, 2cd game of Friday night at Vista Ridge- sorry ... my old, faithful 20D died with 1 minute left in the Sophomore game, so .. I’ll have to catch ya’ll at another game).

2007-Sep-16: Bowie-McNeil Varsity pics from “The Palace” (Friday, Sep 14th) are now online.

2007-Sep14: Pics from Thursday night’s JV game against McNeil are up. I missed the Sophomore game (I’ll catch ya’ll next week), and arrived right at the end of the 2cd quarter of the JV game.  They’re online and ready to view.

2007-Sep12: LOTS OF COVERAGE comin’ up this next week ... look for coverage of this Friday’s game at “THE PALACE”, plus coverage of all 5 games next week against Vista Ridge.  6 games ... should be around 6000 or more new pictures to look at  (my old Canon 20D is getting weary ... it was rated for around 25,000 photos by the manufacturer ... I’ve got over 100,000 on it at this point in time) !!!!

2007-Sep-08: All pics are now online for both the Freshmen Red and Freshmen Black games against Round Rock on Sept 6th.  Due to some last minute schedule shuffling, I had to miss the varsity game.  However, I will be covering the next game at the “Palace” (best lighting in town for photography) and the game right after that one.

2007-Aug-20: All pics are now online from last Sat - the Bowie-McCallum Varsity and Sub-varsity scrimmages.  Check ‘em out.

Parents - if you would like to use a photo off of this site (the latest or even last year’s images) in an ad for the program, you have two options. If you want a copy for yourself, or if you want to lay out your own ad, you may purchase the hi-res digital file ($10) via the shopping cart.  If you only want to use it in the program, I can send it directly to the person putting the program together at no cost to you if they are doing the actual layout work for
you. Email me for additional details.

What happened to the Summer ???  !!!   Here we are at the brink of the 2007-2008 School Year, and we’re gonna get it off to a good start with some football !  I dusted off the camera, cleaned the lenses, charged the batteries, and checked everything out after essentially taking most of last Spring and the Summer off from photography. Then, I made my way to Burger stadium to cover the Bowie-McCallum scrimmage. It was good to see everybody again.

2007-May-29: Lisa Bradley’s Senior 1-Act Plays are now online. Select “General Events”, then “Theatre” in the menu at the left.  Baccalaureate photos coming in the next day or two.

2007-May-23: Baccalaureate photos coming soon - look for them right after Memorial Day!  Also, more theatre pics coming from Lisa Bradly ... right after Memorial Day.

2007-Apr-30: Theatre and Who’s Who pics ... Lisa Bradley’s Spring Showcase pics are now online on the “Theatre” page under General Events, and pics from the Who’s Who shoot on Apr 27th can be found under “Special” under General Events.

2006-Dec-17: It is 2:39 A.M. (according to my atomic clock on the wall).  I just posted the final football game. I am officially caught up - all football is now online.  Last one was Bowie-Akins.  

2006-Dec-16: Just posted - Bowie-Anderson Freshmen game (in the mud). Also, posting of Bowie-Westlake Varsity and Homecoming game is now complete ... and the 2cd half ot the Bowie-San Marcos game was just posted, completing that event. Last one is in the works - Bowie-Akins Varsity.

2006-Dec-15: Just posted - Theatre pics shot by Lisa Bradley. These are the Senior One-Act plays from last Spring (May 10, 12). Included are “Buried Child”, “The Glass Menagerie”, “Substance Of Fire”, “The Credeaux Canvas”, “Starting Monday”, and “Sweepers”.  On the Events -> Theatre page, scroll down to the ‘05-’06 School Year section to find them.

2006-Dec-13: Just posted - Bowie vs. Bastrop (JV football). Had another week+  delay (oversea’s biz’ness trip).  I took along a little point-n-shoot camera and brought back a few pictures from Zurich, Lucerne, and Mt. 2006-Nov-11: Coming this week--Starlight Theatre's Children's Productions, shot by Lisa Bradley.  Also, later this week I’ll start catching up on football pics - there are around 7 to 8000 Freshmen, JV, and Varsity shots that ya’ll haven’t seen yet!!!

2006-Oct-23: I’m swamped at the real job again .. and way behind on posting (right at 10,000 photos over the past 4 weeks for various schools). Bowie events I’ve covered and still need to post include the remainder of the Bowie-San Marcos varsity football game, Bowie-Anderson volleyball, Bowie-San Marcos varsity football, and the Bowie-Westlake varsity game. This week, I’ll be shooting Bowie-Anderson football - varsity and freshman.  If you have any special requests, let me know - the end of the season is gonna be here before we know it!

Sunday, Jan 29th: Still cleaning up the last few problems caused by our hacker ... for those who have purchased pics, no info about credit cards, paypal accounts, etc., has ever been collected or stored on this server. That has always been handled by the official PayPal website.

Friday, Jan 27th:   Almost all pics are re-loaded after the hacker attack, and there are some new features - the shopping cart now displays a thumbnail of the ordered print on each line in the cart, and you can modify the quantity ordered in the shopping cart without having to delete the line and re-enter it!

Thursday, Jan 19 16th: Our server was attacked by a hacker and everything wiped out.

Monday, Jan 16th: More basketball pics coming online - Charles Buckley (basketball/Bowie Dad) and myself shot the Bowie/Anderson games - the 5 PM Freshmen, the JV, and Varsity. I primarily covered Anderson, and Charles covered Bowie.

Coming soon .... I still need to post the Football banquet pics.  Also, I’m working with Ms. Cook (Yearbook sponsor at Bowie) to acquire a couple of hi-end lenses.  The intent is to provide Bowie student photographers with appropriate equipment to kick things up a couple of notches. Plans are still percolating, but (we think/hope) it’s startin’ to come together and cool things are in store - stay tuned - we’re gonna need your help and support !!!

Wednesday, Nov 16th: First part of the Yearbook Photo Class tutorial is up - the notes in PDF form. The example, commented photo gallery will be added within a day or two.  Click on “Training” in the left menu to access.

Bowiephotos.com is proud to host Lisa Bradley’s photos of Bowie’s Starlight Theatre and various event photos by Charles Schmitz (first posted event is the RR Invitational Swim meet). You’ll find these under event categories “Theatre”, “Swimming”, and (coming soon) Orchestra and Triathlons !!! More recently, Bowie Dad Charles Buckley has been shooting and posting pics from the men’s basketball scene.

Website improvements: the latest postings include an easier-to-navigate format and an entry box for comments or special instructions when ordering prints.

Star Center Gymnastic pics (shot for Positively Youth Sports) are online - you can access them through the “event photos” -> “access limited”.

Oct 21, 2005: The site cotinues to slowly evolve.  Two Bowie parent/photographers have been invited to join Bowiephotos.com - Lisa Bradley (shoots Bowie’s Starlight theatre) and Charles Schmitz (covering triathlon and swimming events so far). Lisa and Charles will use their own pricing structures and will directly handle delivery of their own photos when purchased.

Work is always in progress - the main areas of the site are up. Other features and pages continue to come online as I develop the associated pages.  Check back occasionally - you should see continuous changes.
