BASIC STEPS:

  • Click on the “Event Photos” button in the menu on the left hand side of the home screen
  • Select the event category and specific event you’re interested in
  • Browse the pictures
  • When you see one you’d like to purchase, scroll down to below the image and add the size and quantity and any special instructions for me into the shopping cart
  • When you’re ready to check out, click on the shopping cart symbol at the bottom of any image, or on “cart” in the menu at the very bottom of the browser window.
  • Go through the check out procedure.
  • I’ll usually mail prints within 2 weeks (or sooner) after receiving payment. Sometimes, it takes longer, depending on how busy my real job and things on the home front are, or during end-of-season shopping rushes on the website.  Digital images are processed, then uploaded to the server. I then send you a link via which you can download them. I don’t mail copies of digital images and thus there is no shipping/packaging charge (normally $3.00).

A BIT MORE DETAIL:

You may use the built-in shopping cart to purchase prints. At the bottom of any event photo, you will find the shoppping cart interface. Select the quantity and print size, then click on “Add”.  You may check your cart at any time by clicking on “Check” at the bottom of any photo, or by clicking on “Cart” on the home page.  After checking your cart, you may return to picture browsing or proceed thru final checkout. Below, you’ll find a more detailed explanation of this process.

Shopping Cart Quick Start Guide:

  • To buy pictures, use the shopping cart system on this website
  • The first step: Go to a picture that you wish to purchase. At the bottom of every event picture (you may have to scroll down to be able to view the area below the actual image), you’ll find the shopping cart components.
  • Set the Quantity (QTY - the number of copies you want of that print for the size you will select in the next step). It comes up as one.  You don’t have to change it unless you want more than one copy.  Additional copies have a discounted price.
  • Select the size that you want. These vary from 4x6 to larger sizes.
  • Click on “Add” to add it to your cart.
  • You may now either move on to the next picture of interest, or you may “Check” your shopping cart by clicking on “Check” below any picture.
  • Continue browsing any events and photos that you like, adding whatever you wish to the cart.
  • You can check the cart status at any time either by clicking on “Check” below any picture, or by clicking on “Cart” on the home page.
  • After “Checking” cart status, you may proceed to checkout, or you may go back to browsing pictures.
  • At checkout, there are two payment options - to print the order form and send a personal check, or to use PayPal.  If you choose to use PayPal, you can use a Mastercard/Visa through a PayPal account that you will have to set up (which is a quick, easy process).
  • There are large-order price breaks at $50, $100, and $200 of 10%, 15%, and 20%. These will be automatically added by the shopping cart.
  • A note here - your cart contents will remain unchanged until you close your browser or leave the website.  The cart contents are always emptied when you first come to website, or when you first start your browser. In the future, I plan to add an enhancement that will allow your cart to remain stable between visits such that you won’t necessarily have to complete the purchase in one visit.  But, for now, you have to complete to purchase in one visit or plan on re-entering your order upon your next visit.
  • As I get time, I’ll continue to enhance the shopping cart code.  If something doesn’t seem to be working properly, please give me a call - I’d like to know about any problems as soon as possible and will expedite a fix.  Best time to call is probably between 8PM and 12 midnight. If calling after 10PM, please use this alternate number: 282-3510.

A few more details ...

  • You can bring up the cart for review at any time, from anywhere on the site, and still return to what you what you were doing without loosing content.
  • You *WILL* loose the contents of your shopping cart if you leave my website, or if you hit the “reload” button on your browser (I’ll fix this in the future)...I have not yet implemented “persistent data”  (but will soon).  For now, if you leave the site, or hit your browser’s re-load button, your cart will be emptied and you’ll have to start all over for picture selection.
  • There are large-order price breaks at $50, $100, and $200 of 10%, 15%, and 20%. These will be automatically added by the shopping cart.
  • Right now, you can either choose to pay by check or PayPal.  In the future, I may set up an account to accept MC/Visa, but for now, I don’t have that ability. You can use your MC/Visa through PayPal (and thus on this site) simply by setting up a PayPal account, which is fairly easy to do.
  • Items are added to the shopping cart via the form at the bottom of each individual picture’s large view.  You can select size and quantity. Each picture has a fixed price for the first copy (covers time and effort to prep the digital image for printing) and it has a reduced price for additional copies since the prep work only has to be done once.
  • A hi-resolution digital image file is available for each picture.
  • My print prices are at or below the price of other sports-action photographers around town. Compared to some, my prices are significantly lower.
  • Adding improvements (such as data persistence, which will allow you to shop for awhile, leave the site, and come back at a later time to finish without loosing your cart’s contents) will be an ongoing process.

.Hope this answers most or all initial questions you might have about the shopping cart. Feel free to email me with additional question, or to call me. You can find my contact info via the “Contact” link in the header and footer of most pages.
